Waterbased is an independent service business offering consultation and advice on all things water
If you live, or plan to live, in a rural area you will need to consider your water needs, not only the water being used on the property for the house, landscape, pasture, crop, but the wastewater and stormwater.
Unlike living in a town or city where all water services (water supply, sewer and stormwater drains) are generally provided, living rurally requires you to have your own water supply (tank, well/bore or rainwater), and a means of managing both the wastewater generated by dwellings/services and the stormwater that falls onto to roofs or hardstand areas.
Before building in the country you will need:
- A water supply
- Consent for onsite wastewater disposal – both district and regional councils
- A means of distributing water – pumps, pipework
- Water testing to see if the water requires treatment
- A means of managing stormwater
Waterbased can help with any or all of these planning requirements.
